| What should I check before leaving for the datacentre? |

Booking InYou should ensure you are booked in before leaving - short notice visits cannot always be accommodated. You must bring government-issued photographic ID such as a passport or UK Driving Licence. Your ID may be retained by security while you are in the building as you will be issued a pass to open security doors. Final ConfigurationBefore colocating your server you need to set it up so you can access it remotely. Linux servers will generally need ssh enabled, while Windows servers need the necessary permissions and services running. Make sure your firewall, if configured, will grant you access! Should you get stuck, we have a bookable KVM module that can be connected to your server, and remote hands are available at any time. Travelling to the DatacentreRemember to bring the server, rails and any equipment needed to mount the rails (such as a screwdriver). We provide all the cabling, so you don't need power or network cables. We don't recommend front bezels (they fall off or get accidentally locked) or cable tidy arms. You must install your server on rack rails, any servers mounted on shelves or loose will be repositioned and charged for. |
